Overview
Key Features
G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series DDR5 U-DIMM Memory Kit, Model: F5-6400J3239G16GA2-TZ5RK
32GB total capacity kit containing 2x16GB modules, rated for up to DDR5-6400 CL32-39-39-102 at 1.40V
Non-ECC, DDR5 U-DIMM, 288-pin, for Desktop PC & Gaming
Includes JEDEC default profile, and Intel XMP 3.0 memory overclock profile
Do not mix memory kits. Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure.
For Intel Z890, Intel Z790, Intel B860, Intel B760 platforms. Refer to G.SKILL memory QVL or RAM Configurator tool on the G.SKILL website for more details on validated motherboard and hardware.
Usage in any manner inconsistent with manufacturer specifications, warnings, designs, or recommendations will result in lower speeds, system instability, or damage to the system or its components.
Memory kits will boot at JEDEC default SPD speed at default BIOS settings with compatible hardware.
For memory kits with XMP and/or EXPO overclock profile, enable XMP/EXPO/DOCP/A-XMP profile in BIOS to reach up to the rated potential XMP or EXPO overclock speed of the memory kit, subject to the use of compatible hardware. Enabling XMP or EXPO is an act of overclocking and requires BIOS setting adjustments.
Reaching the rated XMP or EXPO overclock speed and system stability will depend on the compatibility and capability of the motherboard and CPU used.

👍 Pros
- DDR5-6400 at CL32 delivers class-leading bandwidth for the speed tier, with tight primary timings that keep real-world latency competitive against looser high-frequency alternatives.
- Intel XMP 3.0 support means one BIOS toggle takes you from JEDEC baseline to rated overclock speed with no manual timing adjustments needed.
- 32GB total (2×16GB) hits the practical sweet spot for gaming, creative workstation builds, and virtualization without requiring four slots, which preserves overclocking headroom on Intel platforms.
- The aluminum heatspreader manages thermals effectively at 1.40V, keeping the modules within safe operating range during sustained workloads without active cooling.
- Validated across multiple Intel chipsets (Z890, Z790, B860, B760), giving it broad platform compatibility across the current Intel desktop ecosystem.
👎 Cons
- Reaching the rated DDR5-6400 speed depends on CPU memory controller quality — some Intel 13th and 14th Gen CPUs have variable IMC performance, and not all chips will train stably at this frequency.
- This kit is XMP 3.0 only; AMD AM5 systems using EXPO will not have a validated overclock profile, making this a poor choice for Ryzen builds despite physical DDR5 compatibility.
- At 1.40V, sustained heavy loads — extended rendering, overnight compute jobs — will run warmer than lower-voltage DDR5 kits, a minor but real consideration in thermally constrained cases.
- Mixing with any other memory module voids the kit validation and risks system instability — a practical constraint if you plan to upgrade incrementally rather than replacing all RAM at once.
