Overview

The Lenovo AD-7940H is a slim internal DVD±RW multi drive built as a genuine replacement part for Lenovo ThinkPad laptops. Identified by FRU number 45N7453 and ASM part number 45N7576, this drive slots directly into compatible ThinkPad optical drive bays without modification. It handles a full range of optical media, supporting DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, CD-R, and CD-RW formats for software installation, data archiving, and media playback.

As an OEM component, the AD-7940H is engineered to meet Lenovo's specifications for power consumption, thermal performance, and physical fit within the ThinkPad chassis. This makes it a dependable choice for users who need to restore a failed optical drive or add disc capability back to a ThinkPad that shipped without one. While external USB drives offer more universal compatibility, this internal drive maintains the laptop's clean profile and draws power directly from the system without occupying a USB port.
