Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- Adds 8 camera channels in a single license, making it efficient for medium-sized expansions.
- Software-based licensing means no additional hardware is needed beyond the existing NAS.
- Scales flexibly alongside 1-channel and 4-channel licenses to match exact surveillance needs.
- Supports up to 128 total channels across stacked licenses, accommodating growing installations.
👎 Cons
- Requires a separate QVR Pro Gold license as a prerequisite, adding to the total cost.
- Only works on 64-bit x86 QNAP NAS models, excluding ARM-based units.
- Performance ceiling depends on NAS hardware, so adding channels may require upgrading the NAS itself.
- License is tied to the QNAP ecosystem, offering no cross-platform portability to other NVR solutions.
