The QNAP TS-431P3-4G is a 4-bay network attached storage device built around an Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-314 quad-core 1.7GHz ARM processor and 4GB of DDR3L RAM, upgradeable to 8GB. Its standout feature is the dedicated 2.5GbE RJ45 port, which provides up to 2.5 times the bandwidth of conventional gigabit Ethernet — a meaningful improvement when transferring large files, streaming media to multiple clients, or running nightly backups across the network. A secondary 1GbE port is also included for failover or network segmentation.

With four 3.5-inch SATA bays supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD configurations, the TS-431P3 can be tailored for maximum capacity, redundancy, or a balance of both. Data protection extends beyond RAID with AES 256-bit volume encryption and snapshot support, enabling point-in-time recovery from accidental deletion or ransomware. Three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports round out the connectivity, allowing direct backup from external drives.
