Overview

The Razer BlackShark draws its design inspiration from military aviation headsets, and that heritage shows in both its build and its noise isolation capabilities. The circumaural ear cups are lined with leatherette cushioning that seals around your ears, passively blocking outside noise so you can focus entirely on game audio, music, or voice chat. This makes it well-suited for noisy environments or LAN events where ambient sound can be a real distraction. The overall construction has a rugged, utilitarian feel that prioritizes function while still carrying Razer's signature gaming aesthetic.

What sets the BlackShark apart from many gaming headsets is its flexibility. The detachable boom microphone pops off cleanly, turning a full gaming headset into a set of portable headphones suitable for commuting or casual listening. The combined audio/mic cable connects directly to any device with a single 3.5mm jack — smartphones, tablets, or modern laptops — while the included splitter cable ensures backward compatibility with PCs that use separate headphone and microphone ports. Since this is a purely analog headset, there are no drivers to install and no software dependencies, which keeps setup simple across all platforms.
