The Western Digital WD05PURZ is a 500GB hard drive from the WD Purple surveillance line, purpose-built for the demands of security DVR and NVR systems. Unlike standard desktop drives, it is engineered to handle the constant streaming write patterns of 24/7 video recording. Its AllFrame technology works at the firmware level to reduce frame loss and improve playback integrity, which is critical when reviewing security footage.
