Overview
Key Features
Open-Source Mini Router —— The youyeetoo NanoPi R2S Plus is a compact dual-Gigabit open-source router built on the Rockchip RK3328 quad-core Cortex-A53 platform, designed for IoT gateways, NAS, smart-home control, and portable travel networking.
Quad-Core RK3328 & 32GB eMMC —— Powered by a Rockchip RK3328 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor at up to 1.4GHz with 1GB DDR4 and 32GB eMMC 5.1 onboard storage, plus a MicroSD slot for up to 128GB expansion. Dual Gigabit Ethernet uses a dedicated PHY (RTL8211F) and a USB 3.0 bridge (RTL8153B), each delivering about 941Mbps.
Reliable Boot & Low Power —— The 32GB eMMC eliminates SD-card boot failures common in 24/7 network appliances, improving long-term reliability and I/O performance. Fanless metal-case design draws only 5V/2A (approx 10W), ideal for always-on routing, VPN, and network monitoring.
Rich OS & Easy Recovery —— Ships ready for FriendlyWrt (OpenWrt-based), Debian, Ubuntu Core, OpenMediaVault, and Docker CE. A Maskrom button and onboard USB-C debug UART simplify firmware recovery and development; full wiki and community documentation are provided.
Compact Size & Efficient Power —— Measures just 62.5x63.5x30mm and weighs 145g with the metal case. Powered via USB-C at 5V/2A, operates fanless from 0°C to 70°C, fitting easily into tight network cabinets, travel kits, or desktop setups.
Versatile Networking Use Cases —— Perfect as a wired IoT gateway, home or small-office router, NAS front-end, VPN or AdGuard gateway, wireless repeater base, and an open-source development board for makers and embedded engineers.
