Lenovo 4XA0E97775 ThinkPad UltraSlim USB DVD Burner

The Lenovo ThinkPad UltraSlim USB DVD Burner (4XA0E97775) is a compact external optical drive designed for users who still need CD and DVD functionality in an era of increasingly port-limited laptops. At just 9.5mm thick, it slips easily into a bag alongside your notebook and draws power directly from the USB connection, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter. The drive supports USB 3.0 for faster data transfer while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports.

Beyond basic disc reading, the drive functions as a full DVD burner, allowing you to write data, create backups, and produce video discs. The included 0.75MB memory buffer with underrun protection helps ensure reliable burns by preventing interruptions during the write process. Lenovo bundles PowerDVD Create for video capture and disc authoring, along with PowerDVD for playback, giving you a ready-to-use media workflow right out of the box. While it won't replace cloud storage for most tasks, it remains a practical tool for software installation, legacy media access, and physical backups.
