Overview

The QNAP SP-X20-TRAY is a replacement hard drive tray built for select QNAP home and small-office NAS systems, specifically the TS-120, TS-220, TS-251, and TS-451. If an original tray cracks, warps, or goes missing, this part restores your NAS to full working order without having to contact support or wait for a warranty claim. It accepts both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives, including SSDs, giving you flexibility to upgrade or change your storage configuration as needs evolve.

The tray is made of white plastic and ships with two screw sets — six black flat head machine screws sized for 2.5-inch drives and eight silver flat head machine screws for 3.5-inch drives. Installation is a matter of seating the drive, securing it with the appropriate screws, and sliding the tray back into the NAS bay. Note that this is the non-locking version, so there is no key mechanism to prevent physical drive removal. For most home and SOHO environments, this is a non-issue, but users in shared-access locations should be aware of the distinction.
